Sustainable Initiatives at The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman The resort boasts the coveted Green Key Certification. • On-staff Energy Conservation Manager • Waste vegetable oil from all kitchens is turned into bio-diesel. • Spa and Jacuzzi are heated with solar thermal collectors. • High efficiency LED and CFL light bulbs installed in all locations where feasible. • Plastic cups have been replaced by compostable corn cups all areas. • Inncom motion sensor thermostats in all guestrooms. • Ambassadors of the Environment by Jean-Michel Cousteau's program promotes environmental responsibility and sustainable living. • Prima water bottles: See link for more details: http://primabottle.com/home/prima.html • VFD’s installed on all premium efficiency motors. • Waste water reclamation system turns laundry waste water into clean water used for irrigation. • 350,000 gallon cistern collects rooftop rain water which is then used for irrigation. • Mangrove conservation initiative through Ambassadors of the Environment and Community Footprints.
