Virgen de Guadalupe Church

The Virgen de Guadalupe Church or "Our Lady of Guadalupe Church" is one of Puerto Vallarta's famed attractions. Completed in 1951, originally the landmark Puerto Vallarta church was topped by a gilded crown. The gold crown was decorated with angels holding hands and modeled after a crown worn by Empress Carlota of Mexico. In 1995 The Virgin de Guadalupe Church suffered major damage, due to an earthquake. Today, the church is topped by an Octavio Gonzales sculpture.
