Paulista Avenue is the most charming avenue in the city and one of São Paulo's busiest and longest avenues, this is where everything happens. Movie theaters, schools, cultural centers, shopping malls, parks and remainings of late 19th century architecture are just some of the sights you will find when walking down this road The large extension of Paulista Ave is closed to cars every Sunday and the busy area that people use during the week disappears giving space to people have fun. The bicycle path stays full of bikes and instead of cars the avenue has skates, roller skates and runners.

The country’s biggest fashion names are tightly packed on this little street in the idyllic Jardim neighborhood. Upmarket boutiques selling the world’s top brands are lined up one after the other, interrupted now and again by exquisite cafés and restaurants. he Monastery of Sao Paulo is guaranteed for those visiting the state capital. It's one of those sacred tips which also applies to people who are not religious. The Benedictines arrived in Sao Paulo in 1598, but was created only in 1634 the Abbey and the chapel was dedicated to St. Benedict. The site, which hosted Pope Benedict XVI during his visit to Brazil, is today, besides the church (Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption), the monastery with about 40 cloistered monks who follow the tradition of ora et labora ("pray and works "), plus, in the case of monks in São Paulo, the et legere (" to read "), especially the Holy Scriptures.

The awe-inspiring Sorocaban Railway station today houses Sala São Paulo, headquarters of the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra and one of Brazil’s most important concert halls. The railway station was designed by Christiano Stockler das Neves in 1925, at a time when the city, stimulated by the coffee trade and railway trade, was growing at quickly. The building, whose eclectic design das Neves described as Louis the XVI neo classical marked by the sobriety of the ornaments and details - took thirteen years to complete. In 1938, when it was ready to open to the public, São Paulo's residents had become accustomed to automobile transportation, minimizing the usefulness of trolleys and trains.

here are few more agreeable ways to while away a Saturday São Paulo afternoon than to take a turn around the open-air market at Praça Benedito Calixto in Pinheiros. It is, say paulistanos, one of the few places where the city loses its formality and, with beer in hand and flip flops on feet, approaches something like the easy, street-level sociability of Rio de Janeiro. In the mornings, families and couples wander the second-hand stalls at the Saturday market looking for knick-knacks, furniture and classic second-hand samba CDs. From 2.30-6.30pm, the Chorinho na Praça in the middle of the market is the place to hear live chorinho musicians perform this whimsically melodic samba style as you munch on doces caseiros – homemade sweets – and watch the crowd drift by. Mid-afternoon, there’s a ‘changing of the guard’ as the gay contingent arrives, and the pavements fill with groups of people hanging out, drinking beer and chatting. Whatever your sexual persuasion, throughout the day and into the evening the atmosphere here is always open, relaxed and friendly. And with the shopping done and the appetite whetted, what’s called for is a cold beer and something to eat. Which is where our handy guide to the best bars on and around the square comes in.

The São Paulo See Metropolitan Cathedral --"See" and "cathedra" mean "seat" and therefore the ecclesiastical authority of a bishop or archbishop (Portuguese: Catedral Metropolitana, or Catedral da Sé de São Paulo) is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of São Paulo, Brazil. As of 2013 the Metropolitan Archbishop of the archdiocese was Cardinal Odilo Pedro Scherer. Its construction, in Neo-Gothic style, began in 1913 and ended four decades later. It was ready for its dedication on the 400th anniversary of the foundation of the then humble villa of São Paulo by Chief or Cacique Tibiriçá and the Jesuit priests Manuel da Nóbrega and José de Anchieta. Despite having a Renaissance-styled dome, the São Paulo Metropolitan Cathedral is considered by some to be the 4th largest neo-gothic cathedral in the world.

is one of the most important art museums in Brazil. It is housed in a 1900 building in Jardim da Luz, Downtown São Paulo, designed by Ramos de Azevedo and Domiziano Rossi to be the headquarters of the Lyceum of Arts and Crafts. It is the oldest art museum in São Paulo, founded on December 24, 1905, and established as a state museum since 1911.[2] After passing through a renovation conducted by Paulo Mendes da Rocha in the 1990s, the museum became one of the most dynamic cultural institutions of the country, lining up with the international circuit of exhibitions, hosting cultural events and keeping an active bibliographic production.[3] Pinacoteca also maintains a branch in Bom Retiro district, called Estação Pinacoteca, where it holds temporary exhibitions and the institution's documentation center. The Pinacoteca has a wide-ranging collection of Brazilian art, mainly noted for its vast assemblage of 19th-century paintings and sculptures, one of the largest in the country, as well as for a number of iconic Brazilian Modernist artworks.[2] The collection also includes a department of works on paper, European paintings and sculptures from 19th-century artists, decorative arts, etc.

Covert Cocktail Club
Covert Cocktail Club

Once upon a time in 2016, Matt Levy, founder of Covert Cocktail Club, hosted a secret speakeasy as an intimate place for strangers to gather in his home. The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”. A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era. Liberated from the confines of a single location, Covert Cocktail Club now brings the speakeasy right to your door—be it at your home, office, bar mitzvah, dinner party, bachelor/ette party or anywhere you choose!
