Verdura Resort, a Rocco Forte hotel is situated on the south-west coast of Sicily. Set in a valley of olive groves, the luxury resort is 30km from the ancient town of Agrigento, whose archaeological park "Valley of the Temples" is featured within prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List. It features a hotel with 203 rooms and 20 private villas with 3 and 4 bedrooms each (for a total of 66 bedrooms). A short drive away is the picturesque fishing port of Sciacca. You can explore its medieval alleys and baroque churches, find a seafood restaurant for lunch, then relax on one of its many sandy beaches. Every February it attracts people from all over Italy for its Carnival, one of the biggest in the country and a dazzling parade of colorful costumes and giant papier-mache figures.
