TEX (TELLURIDE) TO MADELINE: 5.4 MILES ~15 MINUTES You’ve landed at the highest airport in the US! You are now 15 minutes away from the beautiful Madeline Hotel. When leaving the airport, follow Airport Road until you reach the intersection at the bottom of the hill. Make a right onto CO-145, heading towards the traffic circle. Take the second exit, following signs for Mountain Village. Head up the hill for almost a mile until you may take the first available left onto Mountain Village Blvd. Follow this road until you see the Madeline’s drive! MTJ (MONTROSE) TO MADELINE: 65 MILES ~1 HOUR 15 MINUTES Directions from Montrose to Madeline Hotel & Residences. Start by heading southwest on Airport Road towards N. Townsend Ave. Staying straight, you will follow US-550 until you reach the small town of Ridgway. At the traffic light, turn right, following signs for CO-62 and Telluride. You will stay straight on this road until you are able to make a left on CO-145, following signs for Telluride. Stay straight until you reach a traffic circle. Make your first available right, following signs for Mountain Village. Straight ahead for almost a mile until you may take the first available left onto Mountain Village Blvd. Follow this road until you see the Madeline’s drive!

One of a Kind Experience! Since its opening in November 1996, the Telluride/Mountain Village gondola has served as a one-of-a-kind transportation system – the first and only free public transportation system of its kind in the United States. This 8-mile, 13-minute ride the ride offers incredible 365-degree views of the San Juan mountains. Taking a ride on the “G” is an experience that cannot be replicated and is a must do while visiting! The Gondola consists of 2 parts and 4 stations. Begin your journey at Telluride Station and take in the beauty of town from above. The Gondola then reaches its summit of 10,540 feet at San Sophia Station. Feel free to get off here and head to the slopes, hiking & biking trails, or Allred’s Restaurant. Get back on at San Sophia and enjoy the epic views of the ski resort as you descend into Mountain Village and drops you off at the Gondola Plaza. Once you are in the plaza you can head down the steps to Mountain Village Core or ride the second part of the Gondola to reach the Mountain Market, the Post Office, and Mountain Village Town Hall. At its core, the free gondola is transportation, meant to provide a simple and clean commuting option. All the electricity used to operate the Gondola is provided by wind and solar power. The cabins serve as lifts for skiers & snowboarders, mountain bikers, hikers, and tourists & locals alike.
