Broward County’s largest concentration of historic properties on the banks of the New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The crown jewel of this district is the 1905 New River Inn, first Broward building listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which today houses a museum of history & archaeology. The museum is part of a full educational campus which includes the King Cromartie Museum of Pioneer History (1907 home), the Philemon Bryan House (1905 home), a full-service Library and Research Center, and an 1899 replica schoolhouse. Guided tours daily at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Tue-Fri 12-4pm, Sat & Sun 9:30am-4pm. Adults $15, seniors $12, students $7. No charge for accompanied children 6 and under, nor active and senior military members.
