Old Sachsenhausen, with its apple wine pubs, the historic half-timbered houses and narrow alleys stands for Frankfurt cosiness and hospitality. No sojourn in Frankfurt is complete without a quick visit for a glass of the renowned "Frankfurt Ebbelwei". From 1390 onwards, Frankfurt boasted a city wall with nine towers that also enveloped the district of Sachsenhausen. Sachsenhausen remained a village until the end of the 19th century, serving as Frankfurt's fish, fruit and vegetable supplier. Apple Wine During the Middle Ages, beer and wine were the beverages of choice. Then, in the middle of the 16th century, the Rhine-Main area went through a bit of a climatic change, which negatively influenced wine production from hereon in. As a result, many vineyards were transformed into fruit orchards. During the Goethe era, more and more wine taverns made the transition to apple wine pub.

By Car On the A3 from Cologne: Drive towards Frankfurt, past Frankfurt Airport towards the “Offenbacher Kreuz” junction, then follow the B3 main road signs towards Sachsenhausen. From there, follow the instructions in the “Offenbacher Kreuz” junction section below. On the A3 from Würzburg/Munich: Drive towards Frankfurt until you reach the “Offenbacher Kreuz” junction, then follow the B3 signs. From there, follow the instructions in the “Offenbacher Kreuz” junction section below. On the A5 from Giessen or Darmstadt: Drive towards Frankfurt, then at the “Frankfurter Kreuz” junction, join the A3 towards Würzburg until you reach the “Offenbacher Kreuz” junction, then follow the B3 signs. From there, follow the instructions in the “Offenbacher Kreuz” junction section below. “Offenbacher Kreuz” juction: From here, follow the B3 signs until you reach a roundabout. Afterwards, take the second exit on the right towards Sachsenhausen. Follow this road for 2–3 km, when you reach the end, turn right onto Darmstädter Landstraße. The hotel is located on the left hand side. To reach the garage and car park (both chargeable), turn left at the “ARAL” petrol station. Then take the first road on the right into Mailänder Straße. After several metres, you will see our open-air car park on the right hand side. To reach our hotel garage, follow Mailänder Straße right through to the traffic lights, then turn right. You will see the garage on the right hand side after a few meters, past the entrance to the hotel. Public Transport From the Frankfurt Central Train Station (Hauptbahnhof): A taxi from takes 20 minutes; Public Transport: Take the S-Train S2 to S6 (direction south main central station / "Südbahnhof") to "Konstabler Wache". From there take the bus No. 30 or 36 (direction "Hainer Weg") to "Südfriedhof", which will bring you directly at the hotel. From Frankfurt Airport: A taxi takes 20 minutes. Take the S-Train S8 (direction "Hanau") to "Konstabler Wache". From there take the bus No. 30 or 36 (direction "Hainer Weg") to "Südfriedhof", which will bring you directly to the hotel.
