Old Gala House is a composite building which has been added to and altered over a period of more than 400 years. The house has been a museum site since 1988. It is a very popular venue for meetings and societies - including the Borders Family History Society - and the meeting rooms have all been named after places or families associated with the town of Galashiels. The Scott Room is also a superb setting for many weddings throughout the year. The house and grounds are used annually as the venue for the Graduation celebrations of the Borders campus of Heriot Watt University.
