Desert Voyagers offers guided kayaking, rafting and stand up paddle board tours on flat, no white water bodies of water. The tours take place on the Lower Salt River or Saguaro Lake, both outside of Mesa and Phoenix, Arizona.
Kayaking Details:
The Sonoran Desert depends on its rivers and lakes to provide habitat for the diverse wildlife that call this area home, including wild horses and bald eagles, which we are often lucky enough to see during our tour! Your guides will give you advice on how to pilot your kayak or downriver while sharing lots of interesting facts about the beautiful red cliffs, lush plantlife, and amazing landscape around.
Rafting Details:
All of our regularly scheduled guided flat water rafting trips take place near Phoenix on the Lower Salt River or Saguaro Lake in the Tonto National Forest. The rivers and lakes in the Southwest provide some of the best wildlife and bird watching opportunities around. The river is a very scenic Class I (the easiest rating on the international scale of river difficulty), flat water river with no white water or rapids. Some paddling is required, but for the most part your guide will do the work while you sit back and enjoy the scenery. Listen carefully, your guide is a seasoned expert and will point out features of interest in the surrounding landscape.
Water temperatures are in the 60s in the winter and rise to low 80s in the summer months. Swimming is possible year‐round, but the water may be chilly in January! Tours can be arranged in the morning or afternoon and typically last about 4 hours. Your guides transport all equipment to and from the river and your guided tour includes water and snacks.
SUP Details:
A SUP is similar to a large surf board that allows a standing/paddling form of on-water recreation and touring. Our guided SUP tour is a great introduction to a new way to enjoy the river or lake! We’ll learn basic techniques including launching and landing, how to balance, kneeling, standing, and navigating on calm water. We will also some of the amazing desert flora and fauna which make this such a unique habitat. This tour is suited to anyone with good physical fitness, a willingness to learn a new skill, and a modest sense of adventure.
* We offer Private Group tours as well as Hotel pickup!
The guided trail rides at Saguaro Lake Ranch Stable are unlike any other Phoenix horseback riding trails you’ll find. Why? Because our picturesque location is truly like no other; unique trail attractions such as the beautiful Saguaro Lake, the imposing Bulldog Cliffs, and the majestic Salt River that winds through our property, are just steps away on horseback.
We offer unique levels of 4x4 Desert Adventures from our scenic Sonoran adventure to our “desert stormin” extreme adventur. Or experience the thrill of driving one of our exclusive, unique “C2” 2 seat desert cars or buggies through some challenging desert trails. ATV’s – 4 wheelers – quads tours are also available. A “stellar” experience not to be missed! Plan your next Corporate event now!
*Tours depart morning, afternoon and sunset – 7 days a week
Green Zebra Jeep Tours – 17 minute drive from the Resort
We offer exhilarating ATV tours featuring the cutting edge Tomcar, which is more than just your run-of-the-mill ATV. Green Zebra Adventures allows you to drive your own specially-designed, military grade, off-road vehicle with an experienced local guide leading the way. At each of the scenic stops, you will enjoy interesting commentary on area culture, geography, and history. This is an activity that anyone can enjoy.
SunRidge Canyon’s 6,823-yard, par-71, Keith Foster-designed golf course unfolds around the rugged ridges and shady canyons unique to the desert mountains that divide Fountain Hills from Scottsdale, Arizona. This Scottsdale golf course gradually descends on the way out before doubling back to climb up the slope on the way in. This subtle elevation change lies at the heart of the dramatic golf experience at SunRidge Canyon. Golfers also discover that it wasn’t so much created by a bulldozer as it was carved out over eons by the relentless pressure of wind and water. Foster had the good sense to follow Mother Nature’s lead, and in the end, the beauty and challenge of SunRidge Canyon is unlike any other desert golf experience in the Valley of the Sun.
