Hampton Homestead has a rich and varied history and occupies the site of an earlier weatherboard inn called the Imperial Halfway House. It is located at 1991 Jenolan Caves Road, Hampton. Hampton is reached by turning left into Jenolan Caves Road from the Great Western Highway, just after passing the Hartley Historic Site & village. If guests are anticipating arriving after dark and are expected, the yellow lights on the front verandah will guide the way. Access from Bathurst is 45 minutes via Oberon which is 20 minutes from Hampton. Lithgow is 20 minutes drive and access is via McKanes Falls Road at Old Bownfels. It offers luxury accommodation with personalised service in 3 ensuite rooms (2 queen and 1 King/twin with an extra bed in it) in a 1920’s extension to the original stone cottage built some 50 years earlier. It also works really well for groups of friends or family who may exclusively book the whole place and have dinner, without the need to go anywhere else. It also can host garden weddings, with receptions in a marquee with views of the valley and escarpments, or inside for small wedding parties of up to about 30 people.
