In die tijd was paard en wagen de manier van reizen, dus het hotel had zijn eigen stallen en was het de eerste halteplaats die vanuit Aberdeen naar het zuiden reisde waar je kon overnachten en je paard kon laten rusten. Cove zelf begon als een klein vissersdorp en heeft nog steeds een eigen kleine haven waar vandaag de dag nog steeds lokale krab en kreeften worden aangeland. Het beschikt over verschillende kamers die volledig zijn ingericht met verschillende voorzieningen.
