Black Rock Cafe is well known with-in the local surrounding communities and has been established in Kalbarri since 1999. This modern cafe and restaurant looks out over beautiful water front views of the Murchison River and Gantheaume bay adjoining the Indian Ocean. At the channel entrance is a natural reef and in February 1984, after a violent storm, a large pointed black rock became visible, presumably rising from the reef below the sea.
