Local Attractions

Hachiko Statue

Located outside the Shibuya Train Station is the Hachiko Statue, a bronze, life-size statue of an Akita dog. The statue commemorates the loyalty of a dog that faithfully met its master daily outside the station, even years after his master's death. Today the statue is a favourite rendezvous point for young people and couples and a special place of pilgrimage for dog lovers.

NHK Studio Park

NHK is Japan's public broadcasting corporation. At the NHK Studio Park, you can discover how TV programs are produced including watching a live broadcast. There is a mini-studio theme park featuring hands-on activities such as acting and announcing and a shop selling NHK DVDs and other merchandise.

Electric Power Museum (Denryokukan)

Great for children of all ages, the Electric Power Museum contains some clever models and experiments explaining how electric energy works and revealing the wonder of every-day objects we take for granted. The museum, sponsored by TEPO, features lots of hands-on displays and, best of all, has free admission.

The Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel is a stunning landmark hotel earning rave reviews for its service, style and sensational location in the heart of Shibuya, Tokyo's most exciting district. Clean modern lines and cutting edge technology combine effortlessly with traditional Japanese values of tranquillity and serenity, an inner sanctum entirely removed from the outer turmoil of Tokyo city. The chic, contemporary design of the hotel, from its impressive two-storey atrium lobby to its formal Japanese garden, reflects a seamless blend of East meets West. The hotel is dedicated to providing the utmost in personal service to its guests. All 411 rooms and suites are light, spacious and have breathtaking views across Tokyo. This is a particular benefit in Tokyo, where space is a premium and many hotel rooms are smaller than average. The rooms have been thoughtfully designed to create a comfortable and harmonious space for work and relaxation. The state of the art bathrooms are particularly impressive, with elegant marble baths, separate showers and a distinctly Japanese aesthetic. Guests have the best of both business and leisure facilities. For business travellers there are specially designed Executive Rooms, a dedicated business centre, and a selection of conference, banquet and meeting rooms. The superb fitness centre provides everything needed for a stimulating workout. There is also a Jacuzzi, steam room and indoor swimming pool. Other facilities include a beauty salon and day spa, kid's club, five unique restaurants, a jazz club, a cocktail bar overlooking the city and even a traditional Japanese Noh theatre. With so much being offered at the hotel, it's easy to forget that right outside is the vibrant trend-setting Shibuya district, with its fashionable boutiques, world-class department stores, restaurants and nightclubs. The excellent Shibuya station is a short stroll, and from there you can travel by Tokyo's renowned underground to virtually anywhere in the city.
