The most important feature is a near complete mosaic floor, which can be seen through a viewing window. This is an English Heritage site which is only 5 minutes drive from Eynsham Hall and a great walk in the summer evenings if you are staying with us.

The park was established in 1970 and has been a popular attraction for our 40 years. Its now known as one of the UK's largest zoological collections. It offers a thriving education programme, numerous endanged species breeding programmes and several conservation projects in the wild. The beautiful gardens are carefully tended by a creative team of gardeners who make every corner of the park a joy to visit.

Bampton - Downton Abbey

Bampton Village is located in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds and has featured prominently in the popular TV drama Downton Abbey. The Downton Abbey crew use buildings and landmarks in the village to create this fantastic series. Visit St Marys Church which becomes St Michaels and All Angels Church, Churchgate House which is used as the Crawley family home, The Old Grammer School building which now houses Bamptons Community Archive and is where Downton Cottage Hospital scenes were filmed. A road named Church View has also appeared regularly throughout the series and is the home to two fictional pubs The Grantham Arms and The Dog & Duck and was also the site for the Downton Fair.
