The Santa Monica Pier is located at the foot of Colorado Boulevard in Santa Monica and it is the city’s most famous landmark. The pier contains an amusement park with a big ferris wheel and roller coaster overlooking the Pacific Ocean and parts of West Los Angeles, a carousel from the 1930s, several shops, vendors, entertainers, a pub and a few restaurants and a café. At the end of the pier, fishermen get together to enjoy their hobby. During the summer months, the free Thursday Twilight Dance Series is held, and open air free film screenings are offered to the public from early August to late September.
Warner Brothers Studios Tour

This two-hour plus tour is an actual tour of a working movie studio; no two tours are alike as you are seeing actual work in progress. Therefore, the chance of seeing a star behind or in front of the camera is excellent. Tour the costume department, scenic department, and the mill that creates sets for films and TV, then tour the exterior sets that you will recognize from films and TV. Last is Warner's on-lot Studio Museum, a collection of over 70 years' worth of film making, where you can see four Best Picture Oscars, clothes worn by the stars, a Casablanca museum with the original piano, John Wayne's saddle, and even James Dean's Triumph motorbike. This two-floor museum contains something from virtually every Warner Brothers film. The tour is limited to up to 12 people at a time, including your well-informed guide, so it is worth booking well in advance.

Guests can take self-guided tours of the museum's four floors of exhibits, which feature props, costumes and personal items from stars old and new, including Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Reese Witherspoon. Located in the former Art Deco Max Factor Building, the museum also features set re-creations and world-famous makeup rooms, including the one in which Max Factor decided to dye Lucille Ball's hair red. Steps away from the museum is the popular Hollywood Walk of Fame. Here, guests traverse 3.5 miles of Hollywood royalty, whose names have been commemorated with a pink terrazzo five-pointed star, rimmed with bronze and set in a charcoal square. Honorees on the walk are chosen on the basis of contribution to the film industry, broadcast television industry, recording industry, broadcast radio industry or live theater. Private parties get a Hollywood touch at the museum's fourth-floor Gable & Lombard Grand Salon and basement re-creation of Hannibal Lector's cell block, each available for functions. The Hollywood Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM. Admission is $5 for children under 5, $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and students
