Chuck Ghoorah, Executive Vice President of
Sales and Marketing

As Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Cvent, Chuck Ghoorah has been instrumental in Cvent's expansion from a single-product online event registration company into the world's largest meetings management and web survey technology provider, with four product lines, 1,000 employees and 150,000 users in 100 countries.

Chuck is responsible for Cvent's top line revenue across all product lines on a worldwide basis. He also leads sales and marketing for Cvent's four products, including the Cvent Supplier Network, the world's largest free online marketplace that connects event planners with venues. The Cvent Supplier Network is projected to generate $4 billion in business for hotels in 2011.

Under Chuck's leadership, Cvent has achieved 41 percent compounded annual revenue growth for the last five years and 34 straight quarters of profitability.

Prior to joining Cvent, Chuck was a corporate attorney with Hale and Dorr, where he specialized in venture capital financing and technology transactions. Before Hale and Dorr, he served as an Associate Director at the Advisory Board Company, and launched his career as an attorney at Williams & Connolly, one of the top-rated litigation firms in the country.

With more than 12 years of experience in the meetings industry, Chuck has spoken at over 100 conferences and tradeshows; advised dozens of Fortune 500 organizations and large associations on strategic meeting planning, event marketing and web surveys; and built relationships with some of the world's top hotel chains, including Hilton and Marriott.

Chuck graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University. He then received his master's degree in political science from Duke University Graduate School, and his law degree—Juris Doctorate (J.D.)—with honors from Duke University School of Law. He is currently an active member of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and serves on the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) Technology Committee.
