La Crosse Queen
Welcome aboard the authentic La Crosse Queen paddlewheeler for 1-1/2 hours of scenic delight on the upper Mississippi River! As the La Crosse Queen paddles upstream on the main channel of the Mississippi River, your guide will explain facts and trivia of the historical and present day river, along with local points of interest. Watch for eagles and other wildlife as we cruise past steep bluffs adjacent to the "Great River Road" (Hwy. 14/61) a route designated by AAA as one of the most scenic areas in the Midwest! As we near Lock & Dam No.7 in Dresbach, Minnesota, we will explain the locking process to you. You can have a light supper— Enjoy complimentary pizza with unlimited beer and soda while you cruise on the mighty Mississippi River. Cost is only $20 per person.
Do you have a hotel room for the conference?
Most of the hotels we have blocks with are now full. Your best choice now is the Best Western Midway Hotel at 1835 Rose Street, La Crosse. We have a room rate of $84.99 with them for 2-double beds or a King. This would be a good hotel for clerks bringing their young families because there is a small waterpark and restaurants available. It is a 5-7 minute drive from the La Crosse Center. For Reservations Call: 608-782-7000 or toll free 1-877-688-9260. Group Name: WMCA.
Don't Forget to Register for the Classes!
It seems there is at least one clerk a year that gets to the conference only to find out they never actually registered for the conference! Remember, getting your hotel room reservation is only half of what you need to do.
Check out the details on the 35th Anniversary WMCA Conference website by clicking here. This conference website will show you all of the class descriptions; speakers bios; conference fees and you can register on-line. Remember, you don't need a credit card to register for the conference from the website. The system will send you a confirmation/invoice after you register and mark that you will be paying by check. Then mail in your check with a copy of the confirmation as soon as you can.
Hope to see you in La Crosse!
