Griffith alumnus on a mission to inspire Saudi Arabian girls to study STEM
Fatimah Almathami aims to inspire young females in the Middle East to get involved in STEM, via her Techgirls initiative. The program targets normative gender stereotypes for girls aged 7-17 through mentoring, industry partnerships, and collaboration with families and carers, while boosting their STEM skills.

One of the state’s most esteemed public health professionals, who is currently completing a PhD at Griffith University, has been appointed to the World Health Organisation (WHO) as Senior Consultant Epidemiologist to lead the contact tracing component of the global pandemic response.
