Salon Night: To Bear Witness Part IThursday, February 16, 5:30pmTonight we'll preview the Generations: Survivor Stories collection, to be launched as part of the permanent exhibit in 2012. Generations digital stories are short documentaries about community members who survived the Shoah, along with their children and/or grandchildren. Stories will be screened, followed by an open discussion with storytellers Renee Krakowski, Don Krakowski, Gerard Rosenthal, Alla Shcherbina, and Joan Wallis. Boxes of Life: Keepsakes as ArtSunday, Feb. 26, 10am-3pmCreate your own one-of-a-kind Box of Life with found objects, collage and photography. Fine art photographer and mixed-media artist Dona Laurita is the creator of Cassa da Vita (Box of Life), a project that crafts life stories in books, audio and film recordings, photographs and paintings. Creative Sundays Workshop: Present Day AmuletsSunday, March 12, 10am-3pmWe’ll study images and phrases in the ancient tradition of Jewish blessing amulets from North Africa and the Near East, and create our own using watercolor, collage and embossed tin.
