The deadline to apply for one of three grants to attend the upcoming MPI-CAC Education Program is fast approaching. Applications must be submitted by Sunday, November 6th. The program on November 15th at the JW Marriott Chicago offers a SMM Workshop for Meeting Professionals and is an excellent way to rack up some CEUs or just keep on top of industry trends. McCormick Place Labor Reform Update |
On October 21, Governor Quinn and Mayor Emanuel were joined by MPEA Trustee Jim Reilly, Frank Libby, John Coli, and Jorge Ramirez for a press conference to announce that MPEA and the labor organizations that represent the McCormick Place workforce have reached a settlement on the lawsuit challenging the MPEA's authority to implement work rule reforms outlined in the May 2010 legislation package. The Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters and the International Association of Teamsters, Local 727 are now joining the MPEA in asking the federal court to dismiss the lawsuit filed earlier this year. | | Read More |
