Dear Members and Friends
Good things come in threes. Firstly, we are celebrating the 500th issue of this weekly e-newsletter. We want to thank all our members and partners who have contributed input, articles and thought leadership over the last 500 weeks!
Secondly, we are celebrating the launch of an initiative in association with NVPC to encourage your teams to volunteer for two important causes. Both causes are related to our super ageing society. If they have not done so already, they will impact every single one of us. The first is improving the experience of peoples’ day care in Active Ageing Centres via activities drawn from the arts and sports so they do not have to spend every day playing bingo! The second cause is supporting carers in collaboration with the Caregivers Alliance Limited. Carers are heroes and will only increase in number. They need respite so they can continue to give the care their loved ones need and they want to provide. We are looking for 8 companies to start a pilot with either of these causes and we hope yours will be one of them. Contact
derek@sicc.com.sg for more details.
Thirdly, we are celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri which takes place tomorrow. Singapore has 10 recognized religions and celebrates all their major festivals. Leaders and members of all 10 religions collaborate, with mutual respect, to maintain our hard won racial and religious harmony which we take for granted at our peril. The Chamber wishes all its Muslim members and friends as well as Muslim colleagues in the Secretariat Team, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri! Maaf zahir dan batin.
Yours faithfully
Victor
