It was great to see
collaborations in action last
week. Our annual TV programme
“Collaborate to Innovate:
Achieving Positive Outcomes” was
aired on Channel News Asia on 14
March at 7.00pm. It featured the
winners of the 2023 SICC Awards
for Collaborative Innovation
sharing the how, the why and the
lessons learned from their
collaborations - all skilfully
moderated by Wong Su Yen. You
can view the programme
here. The message we hope
you will take away is this: “if
these companies can achieve
positive outcomes by
collaborating, so can we!” For
those of you who already have
done so, we encourage you to
participate in the 2024 SICC
Awards. Full details of the 5
award categories and nomination
forms may be found at
www.siccawards.com.sg.
Earlier on the same day Chamber
member Invest Northern Ireland,
the province’s equivalent of our
Economic Development Board and
Enterprise Singapore, hosted its
annual Ulster Fry Breakfast
event to celebrate St. Patrick’s
Day and what Northern Ireland
has to offer businesses. The
Irish diaspora from north and
south of the border and their
Singaporean friends and
investors were out in force.
Everyone was inspired by the
achievements of businesses and
the opportunities Northern
Ireland offers investors.
Attended by both H.E. Kara Owen,
the British High Commissioner
and H.E. Sarah McGrath, the
Irish Ambassador, the event
demonstrated what is possible in
agriculture, advanced
manufacturing and life sciences
when businesses are connected
and go on to collaborate,
innovate and invest.
St. Patrick is the Patron Saint
of all Ireland and it was very
encouraging to see all
communities come together at the
Irish Embassy’s St. Patrick’s
Day Reception also held on the
same day. Attendees were
celebrating the greatest
collaboration of all – that of
different people of different
cultures and faiths enjoying
each other’s company and
conversation in the spirit of
what they have in common: their
humanity and their collective
potential for positive outcomes.
Have
a great week ahead.
Yours faithfully
Victor
