With the spread of COVID-19 upon us, we’re entering a time in which both urgency and patience are assets. Urgency because a number of businesses and institutions must move quickly to stem the tide. Elected officials, corporate leaders, small business owners and others may be criticized for over-reacting, especially if the worst doesn’t happen. However, the penalty for under-reacting is stiff and would likely be paid in the form of much longer lockdowns, business interruptions and overwhelmed healthcare institutions. That’s where patience comes into play as people continue to interact with one another in ways that can help, virtually or otherwise.
