April 20, 2018 brings Matthew D. Selekman, MSW, LCSW, CRADC, a best-selling author, Clinical Supervisor at 360º Wellness & Coaching and Founder and Director of Partners for Collaborative Solutions to HD Institute as a guest facilitator. Mr. Selekman will be presenting his workshop Working with Violent, Suicidal, and Self-Destructive Adolescents: A Collaborative Strengths-Based Family Therapy Approach. "My workshop themes will cover working with teens and their families presenting with serious and intimidating behaviors and clinical dilemmas like: self-injury, suicide attempts, gang involvement and violent behaviors, multiple symptom-bearers in the family, and how to work with families entangled with multiple larger systems. There will be lots of videotape examples and participants will come away from the workshop with a plethora of highly effective therapeutic tools and strategies for working with these challenging clients." The Institute is pleased to welcome Jamie C. Farquhar, Ph.D., CPsych on April 27. Dr. Faquhar is a registered clinical and health psychologist who specializes in the delivery of evidence-based treatments for eating disorders, body image disturbances, depression and anxiety. Dr. Farquhar will be presenting his workshop Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders: Core Components for Adults.

April also brings back Distinguished Research Professor of Psychology, Director of the York University Psychotherapy Research clinic, and the developer of an Emotion-Focused Approach to Therapy:  Dr. Leslie Greenberg. This time, Dr. Greenberg will present his workshop Emotion, Love, Power and Forgiveness in Couples Therapy on April 30, 2018.
