Categories of Personal Information Processed

Cvent collects business contact information including: first and last names, job title, job function and responsibilities, e-mail address, telephone number, postal address, and company information.

Purposes of Processing

Cvent uses this business contact information to post on Cvent’s Supplier Network and Vendor Marketplace. This enables Cvent to submit requests for proposals to your organization from event planners and industry buyers, which use Cvent’s Supplier Network and Vendor Marketplace to source trusted service providers for events - a key function of the Cvent Supplier Network and Vendor Marketplace. Where permitted, we may also use your business contact information to market our products and services to your employer or to contact you about professional opportunities. We do not sell or share personal information collected herein to third parties. We do not use any automated decision-making technology, including profiling, to process your personal information.

Sources of Personal Information

Cvent collects your business contact information directly from your company’s public website.

International Transfers

To facilitate our business practices, personal information may be collected, accessed from, transferred to or stored in the United States or in other countries where we operate, including countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, and UK. In instances where we receive personal data from the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the UK, we implement safeguards to ensure an adequate level of data protection, including the use of Standard Contract Clauses as approved by the European Commission, and taking additional technical and organizational measures to ensure an adequate level of data protection under EU law. To obtain a copy of relevant standard contractual clauses, you may request from Cvent using the contact information provided below.

Retention Period

Where we process your personal information for the above stated purposes, we process the data until you ask us to stop. Cvent will not retain your personal information longer than the statutory retention period permitted in the local jurisdictions where Cvent services are marketed and provided. Where Cvent retains your personal information, we also keep a record of when you have asked us not to send direct marketing or to process your personal information so that we can respect your request in the future.

Lawfulness of Processing

Cvent processes your personal information based on its legitimate interests, except where such interests are overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms which require protection of personal data. Cvent has legitimate interest in growing its business and increasing the efficacy of its products and services , taking into consideration the reasonable expectation of data subjects (such as yourself) to the processing of business contact information, the limited impact of the use of business contact information on an individual’s private life, and the fact that Cvent provides simple avenues for an individual to exercise control over or opt out of the use of their personal information. We believe that since we only obtain your business contact information from sources that were manifestly made public for the purpose of inviting business opportunities, that it is reasonable for you to expect that we would process your business contact information for our business purposes.

You have the following rights to:

  • Request access to your personal information
  • Request rectification or correction of your personal information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Request restriction of processing of your personal information
  • Object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Lodge a complaint with the appropriate supervisory authority in your country, if applicable

You may exercise your rights above, including the right to object to data processing by submitting a request to: profilebuilder@cvent.com.

Where legally permitted, Cvent may use the public business contact information collected about you to market its products and services to you.
