Visit Bloomington is the official destination marketing organization of Bloomington/Monroe County Indiana. It is our primary responsibility to connect planners with appropriate overnight accommodations and meeting facilities to ensure a positive meeting experience for attendees, exhibitors, and organizers.
With a diverse assortment of meeting facilities and over $50 million in new hotel development and renovations since 2013, Bloomington, Indiana is the perfect Midwest location to host conferences, meetings, and retreats. Ideal venue offerings and Hoosier hospitality produce top-notch meetings as well as the best personalized event services in the area.
But beyond the meeting space at the convention center in the heart of the city or the conference center on the heart of Indiana University’s campus, Bloomington is a vibrant and walkable community full of surprises perfect for networking and entertaining. From the state’s largest and oldest winery to scenic Lake Monroe, and James Beard Award-nominated cuisine to world-class arts, music, and culture, Bloomington is a must-see destination. The city remains active long after 5:00 pm when the work day ends and the meetings are over, ensuring a great attendee experience.
Although best known as a quintessential college town, Bloomington offers so much more. Over 100 locally owned, independent restaurants, dozens of bars, and many major attractions are within walking distance of downtown hotels, including an art-filled linear park, a top-20 children’s science center, one-of-a-kind performance theaters, craft breweries, wineries and a distillery, art galleries, and an array of unique shopping options.
The 3.1-mile B-Line Trail connects bicyclists and pedestrians to hotels, restaurants, attractions, and the Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District with boutiques, nightlife, art galleries, and live music. Deliciously spicy dishes and farm-to-fork favorites can also be found in this safe and friendly city.
The recent renovation of the Bloomington/Monroe County Convention Center pays tribute to the local arts and limestone industry, as both are featured throughout the historic building. The BMCCC is located in the heart of downtown Bloomington and offers 22,000 square feet of meeting space, as well as complimentary parking and wireless internet access for all guests.
The Indiana Memorial Union Biddle Hotel and Conference Center is located in the heart of the Indiana University campus, mere steps from downtown Bloomington. The IMU features 19 unique meeting rooms totaling over 50,000 square feet - including the regal Alumni Hall & Solarium which just re-opened after a $3 million renovation.
Kirkwood Avenue, a five-block pedestrian-friendly promenade that leads to the vibrant downtown Square, offers a true glimpse of campus and community melting together into a lively destination for people of all ages. For example, during the Annual Lotus World Music Festival, Kirkwood Avenue and surrounding downtown streets serve as the festival’s epicenter with live concerts, food vendors and a must-see Lotus parade that happens after dark. Nearby 4th Street has been dubbed by locals as “International Restaurant Row” and offers an authentic yet unique dining experience at well over a dozen eateries dotted along the tree lined street.
Over 2,000 hotel rooms are available county wide. In 2014 Bloomington welcomed two hotels, Hyatt Place and SpringHill Suites, to the downtown area, bringing the BEAD total to over 600 rooms.
Downtown hotels and meeting facilities have invested more than $10 million since 2012 to upgrade rooms, add more space and enhance amenities for guests and meeting attendees.
We are excited to share our dynamic city with you, where everything planners and attendees need is just steps away.
