The Geelong wine region is made up of a diverse group of family-owned winegrowers renowned for their Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz. The area is split into three distinctive sub-regions – the Bellarine Peninsula, Moorabool Valley and the Surf Coast. For something decidedly different around Geelong and entirely enjoyable get on board Queenscliff’s legendary Blues Train. This is one of Victoria’s most spectacular entertainment and dining experiences. You don’t have to be into blues music to enjoy the Blues Train … you just have to be up for a really good time. Whether you come with just one friend/loved one or a large group, you’re sure to have a fantastic night! Running from Queenscliff to Drysdale and back again enjoy the different carriages with each one showcasing a different artist ready to rock your socks off. The Great Ocean Road is one of the world’s most scenic coastal drives. This should be at the top of Victorian bucket list. The spectacular stretch of road runs from Torquay and Allansford. That part of the Australian south-eastern coastline is home to pristine rainforest, charming coastal towns and picturesque beaches, including the world-famous Bells Beach and the breathtaking limestone pinnacles of the 12 Apostles. Whether you’re wandering amongst the plants or relaxing on the lawns, the Geelong Botanic Gardens are awash with colours, scents and beauty. One of Geelong’s best kept secrets, the gardens are located within Eastern Park on the eastern outskirts of the Geelong CBD. They serene grounds were established in 1851 and are the fourth oldest botanic gardens in Australia.

Werribee Open Range Zoo is an African themed zoo offering guests the opportunity to experience African adventure close to home. Jump on the safari bus tour and make sure you visit the stunning gorilla, lion and hippo exhibits. Werribee Open Range Zoo is under an hour’s drive from Rydges Geelong.

Eastern Beach is a picturesque swimming and recreation area on the shores of Corio Bay, moments away from Rydges Geelong. The popular spot was built in the 1930s in the Art Deco style and provides locals and visitors with a safe swimming spot, children’s swimming pool, kiosk and dressing rooms. Eastern Beach is a top spot to kick back in the sun and enjoy what is arguably the best perch in Geelong.

Adventure Park is Victoria’s biggest theme park and is conveniently located a short 20-minute drive from Rydges Geelong. The popular theme park boasts 20 exciting rides and attractions, including a classic Ferris wheel and carousel, roller coaster and water park.
