Delos Islet

Historical landmark
30 minutes away
The neighboring island of Delos (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is one of the most significant mythological and archaeological sites in the Mediterranean, mentioned in Homer’s Odyssey. Delos was a holy sanctuary long before Olympian Greek mythology made it the birthplace of the twin gods Apollo, god of light and Artemis, goddess of hunting. Evidence of habitation on the island dates back to 3000 BC and Delos rose to prominence during the Mycenaean period, its reputation as a sacred island attracting large numbers of devotees. Trade flourished, transforming Delos into a robust commercial port for almost a thousand years after 800 BC. From 478 BC it hosted the treasury of the Delian League before it was removed to the Acropolis in Athens. A small museum amongst the ruins of the ancient city (which once housed over 25 000 people) contains many important artifacts unearthed during the ongoing excavations of the site.

More

The Royal Myconian is an authentic luxurious family-owned hotel with privileged views over the longest fine sand beach on Mykonos. A perfect combination of Greek Myconian Hospitality and distinctive personalized service. An illuminated rustic façade of Cycladic stone is the stage curtain to contemporary interiors and vast entertainment decks conceived by a celebrated Greek set designer. Spacious rooms and suites are cool sanctuaries with private balconies or vast terraces and appointed to the highest standard of comfort, with the option of your own infinity pool or Jacuzzi. At this distinguished member of Leading Hotels of the World, royal service finds expression as much in the personal touch valued by individual guests, as in the finely honed competence required to orchestrate large-scale events. Outstanding amenities include a panoramic pool deck, a superb spa, extensive conference facilities and, of course, restaurants that celebrate the gourmet experience on which the Collection prides itself. 10 meeting and breakout rooms and 153 well-appointed rooms and suites are at your disposal combined with 122 rooms of the adjacent sister property Myconian Imperial.
