El Yunque National Forest, formerly known as the Caribbean National Forest covers over 28,000 acres of land. It is the only tropical forest in the United States National Forest System. The lush green lands provide a habitat for rare wildlife including approximately 50 species of birds such as the Puerto Rican Parrot, and 13 species of coquí, a Puerto Rican tree frog. Hiking through the nature trails from basic to advance will create a memorable experience.
