More
High over the historic Roman metropolis of Trier, on the left side of the Mosel mountains, one finds Berghotel Kockelsberg, whose own history reaches back to the 8th century. First in family ownership and then used as part of the St. Jakobus Hospital, the hotel was opened in the former estate in 1867. 1979 the property, finally came, over rather circuitous route, into the possession of Trier businessman Johann Erdmann. On year later he initiated the remodelling and expansion of the building into a modern hotel with a restaurant taking into consideration a remodelling plant that was consistent with the protection of a historic site.
