Xi 'an Bell Tower is located in the center of Xi 'an, at the intersection of four main streets in the city wall of the Ming Dynasty. It is the largest and best preserved bell tower in China. Built in the 17th year of Hongwu of Taizu in the Ming Dynasty (1384), it was initially built in the mouth of Guangji Street today, opposite to the Drum Tower, and the overall relocation to the present site in the decade of Wanli of Emperor Shenzong in the Ming Dynasty (1582).
