ICONSIAM

ショッピング
距離 5 minutes
The two retail complexes of ICONSIAM – ICONSIAM and ICONLUXE – are closely associated with cultural values and beliefs tied to the Chao Phraya River, including inspirations from ‘krathong’ and ‘baisri’. The ICONSIAM building is a highly modern building with its architectural design inspired by the way a krathong is folded, translating traditional Thai design signatures to modern abstract interpretations. The ICONLUXE complex resembles three glasses krathongs with the façade stretching to 300 metres along the river. A special glass is used to create vertical pleats all over the complex setting a new precedent. The design is inspired by a traditional Thai dress with a pleated shawl that wraps the most valuable part of the project as ICONLUXE represents the ultimate of ICONSIAM’s elegance.

Chinatown

リクリエーション
距離 19 minutes
Bangkok’s Chinatown, Thailand’s largest Chinese community, is commonly known among Thais as Yaowarat, according to the name of the road where it is located. The Chinese community dominated trades between Siam (ancient Thailand) and China since the reign of King Rama I, centered around Ratchawong Pier, while the construction of Yaowarat Road hadn’t begun until 1891 during the reign of King Rama V. Today, Yaowarat is widely known as the kingdom’s largest center of gold trade and a great foodie destination.

The Grand Palace

歴史的名所
距離 17 minutes
The Grand Palace in Bangkok is where every visitor must pay a visit at least once in their lifetime. The construction of the Grand Palace began in 1782 during the reign of King Rama I, the founder of Chakri Dynasty, to become a royal residence, and it has been the utmost architectural symbol of Thailand ever since. The Grand Palace served as a significant royal residence until 1925 and is now used for ceremonial purposes only.

Royal Barges Museum

Temple of Dawn

歴史的名所

The Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun), is named after Aruna, the Indian God of Dawn. Sitting majestically on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River, the legendary Wat Arun is one of the most striking riverside landmarks of Thailand. Despite the name, the most spectacular view of the glittering monument can be seen from the east side of the river at sunset, when the spires of Wat Arun make an impressive silhouette against the skyline.

Flower Market

ショッピング
距離 30 minutes
Discover Bangkok’s famous flower market, known locally as Pak Khlong Talat (market at the mouth of the canal). This location has been a market in one form or another since Bangkok was established in 1782. However, over the last 60 years, it has been Bangkok’s most prominent flower trading centre. Open 24 hours, it’s busiest in the early morning when the delivery trucks arrive from the provinces. It’s not just flowers you’ll find here. Discover greater galangal, a type of ginger that gives the famous Thai soup tom kha gai its unique flavour. The expansive herb, spice and dried goods market is right next door! You’ll travel there and back via an authentic longtail boat.

Wat Pho - Temple of Reclining Buddha

歴史的名所
距離 17 minutes
Wat Pho is situated behind the Grand Palace, near the Tha Tien Pier. It is a large temple that was originally called Wat Photharam and was built during the Ayutthaya Period. King Rama I ordered its complete restoration in 1789 and installed many Buddha images that were removed from abandoned temples in other parts of the country.

ナイトライフ
距離 35 minutes
Fast, frenetic and eclectic, a ramble through Yaowarat is a symphony for the senses. You’ll enjoy an outstanding Thai meal before an imaginative walk through narrow market lanes hunting down street snacks and gaining a candid understanding of the cultural mosaic that is Bangkok.
