Archaeology Museum

The Archaeology Museum exhibits ceramic and stone objects such as feminine figures, vases, plates, bowls, funerary urns, thuribles, ceremonial batchets and yokes that mostly correspond to the Classic Period (200-900 AD) of the Mayan Culture. It also has a collection of colonial ceramic jugs that were probably used to store grains or liquids. .

Getting into town from the Airport. Best route to La Antigua from Guatemala City is to take the Calzada Roosevelt out of Guatemala City through Zone 11, before turning into the Pan-American Highway (CA-1). Take this and exit at San Lucas. From here you´ll take the well-payed highway (RN10) into La Antigua. The ride takes about 40-45 minutes.
