It takes its name from the nearby Gilsland village and the restorative properties of the historic sulphur well visited by many since the 1800s. The location is an ideal base for exploring the World Heritage sites along Hadrian’s Wall, as well as for visiting Carlisle, Gretna, Hexham and Newcastle.
