Library

The Library features original wood moldings that have been restored to interpret a traditional English Gentleman’s Club with 20’ ceilings of exposed, reclaimed wood beams and Douglas Fir wood columns. The Library features the enormous, Brancusi inspired, custom limestone fireplace with a roaring fire and blackened steel hearth. Above the fireplace hangs a 24 karat gold leaf painting by Brooklyn artisans of Callidus Guild, along with four photographs by Dutch photographer Hendrik Kerstens. An illuminated, amber-backed bar display and custom 17th century Venetian style windows made of glass rondelles are fitted with custom bronze hardware and 100% silk drapery. Imported Christian Liaigre standing lamps, Alice in Wonderland inspired 20’ Chesterfield sofa, custom white slip-covered sofas with silk pillows, silver silk upholstered slipper chairs and armchairs upholstered in long-haired Mongolian lamb’s wool. Reminiscent of the 1950’s American and European coffee houses, the Library features La Colombe Coffees and by night into a sexy lounge with cocktails, wine and beer offerings. The Library is 1500 square feet with dimensions of 58X26. Built into the room, a sound system with approved music offerings is available through the hotel.
