The Central is the latest addition to The Head of Steam family. It is situated on the Gateshead side of the River Tyne, between the Tyne and High Level Bridges, next to the railway bridge, and just up the road from the Hilton Hotel and The Sage Gateshead. The Head of Steam - Gateshead has been a very run-down pub, with a lovely bar and back fitting in the Buffet. The upper floors have been turned into function rooms of different sizes, with 2 being very suitable as live music venues. It also has a new rooftop terrace bar. We are open for wedding receptions, birthdays and any other kinds of parties, leaving do's, conferences, meetings, exhibitions, training sessions, music events, in fact we hope that The Central will handle virtually anything that anyone may want to do in it!
