Las Vegas Distillery

Nightlife
9 mi. away
Las Vegas Distillery is the first distillery in Nevada after Prohibition, which ended in 1933, and the only craft spirits manufacturer in the Las Vegas Valley. All the spirits are made in-house. The first legal commercial distillation it was on April 1, 2011, one hundred years after the founding of the City of Las Vegas. Of course in this 100 years there were many "not so legal" distillations in the Valley. The Distillery is a great local story about passion for craft and "Never Give Up!" attitude of a first generation Hungarian American Family, born in the West part of Romania, Transylvania. Yes, that Transylvania... So please do not come after the Sun goes down, because lot of bloodsucking going on and the distillery is full with vampires... George Racz wrote the Nevada Craft Distillery Bill draft for the historic AB 153, which was signed by Governor Sandoval on June 10th, 2013 in Carson City. This bill founded and put down the basics of this unique industry in this state. Congressman Crescent Hardy championed the bill and made it happen. It was a great victory for the new Nevada craft distillery community.

Water Street District

Water Street District is where Southern Nevada comes to be with friends and family. To shop local. To dine local. Not just a place to be. It’s a place to be yourself and explore an eclectic blend of entrepreneurs and good times. You get the feeling that there are no strangers, only possibilities. Proud small-town feel, big-city gumption, and a rich history of making people feel at home. Here. The streets, the people, the places, the character runs deep. And the realest of real good times flow in every direction.

Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve

Recreation
7 mi. away
For more than 20 years, local birders and nature lovers have visited the evaporating ponds at the city's Wastewater Reclamation Facility. As the third-largest body of water in Southern Nevada, the ponds proved irresistible to a wide variety of native and migratory birds. Here in the middle of a desert, birds found an undisturbed and plentiful water source. The Wastewater Reclamation Facility, operated to treat wastewater and meet water quality standards, uses the treated water to irrigate golf courses and highway medians or discharges the treated water into the Las Vegas Wash and Lake Mead. In performing this municipal service, the City of Henderson, without design or intent, created a habitat for birds.

More

Just beyond the neon, resting on a 320-acre reservoir, and adjacent to Jack Nicklaus’ Reflection Bay Golf Club & South Shore Country Club, the 4-diamond Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa awaits. The Lake Las Vegas community was an idea conceived in 1960 and not actualized until the 1980’s. And like many Las Vegas icons, was re-imagined after the 2008 financial fall to an oasis in the desert. Today the Lake community fulfills the promise of a small town feel with all of the modern efficiencies. With over 100,000 sf of indoor/outdoor meeting and event space, the resort is ready to welcome groups, conventions and events both large and small. Guests will enjoy the many options to indulge in our scenic outdoor venues when on break from their meetings. With a possible 35 divisible spaces on one level, flexibility and options is the name of our game. Our banquet culinary team provides a menu and service as casual or as extravagant as the audience desires. Decadence to wellness, there’s nothing like tasteful treats and meals to compliment your business. All of your technology needs are managed by Premier Audio/Visual and our on-site business center. And our experienced services team partner with you on every detail to execute an exceptional meeting or event. Like our neighbors on the Strip, we offer our version of an adult playground. Starting with golf, Reflection Bay is adjacent to the resort with South Shore Country Club, another Nicklaus course, just 2.5 miles. If there is a need for more options, not to worry there are even more golf options within a short drive. If relaxation and rejuvenation is your game of choice, the g Aveda spa will fulfill those desires for beauty and wellness. For the sun worshipers and the kids at heart, our beach on the lake, two lakeside pools, a water slide and hot tub continue the theme of options to play. And for our physical warriors, the Westin Workout Fitness Studio is a great option, but guests really love the walk/run map through our community for a brisk 3–6-mile workout. And there’s more. A variety of water recreation is available as is an electric bike if you would like to extend your adventures through the surrounding mountains. We’re surrounded by incredible hiking and biking trails with beautiful scenic views and perhaps some big horn sheep. An old Irish proverb says that “laughter is brightest where food is best”. Prepare to laugh through your stay. The Executive Chef oversees a collection of dining options. From Sandsabar for casual poolside dining to Rick’s Café for a continental cuisine to Marssa rounding out with steak and sushi fine dining. And when the desired environment is totally private and quiet, take in the peaceful surroundings of the guestroom or suite with in-room dining. There are additional options for dining, shopping and/or entertainment, spanning within Lake Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City and of course, Las Vegas Within 10 minutes, the Village offers more dining options while 15-minutes away offers the Water Street District for more dining, entertainment and shopping. Or visit historic Boulder City. And we would be remiss not to mention that there is our neighbors to the North, Las Vegas Strip, within 30 minutes. With so much fun, food and business, we have to mention the accommodations to renew the mind and body. What could be more fitting than to relax and rejuvenate in a Heavenly Bed? Guestrooms and suites encircle the landscape offering mountain, pool and lake views. There is no straighter road to success than exceeding expectations one meeting and event at a time.
