The Villas at Kiawah Island Golf Resort

About us
Situated on a barrier island just 21 miles southeast of Charleston, South Carolina, Kiawah Island Golf Resort spans 10 thousand acres bound by ten miles of white sand beach and sweeping salt marsh. An early example of environmentally sensitive development, the island abounds with Lowcountry habitat that island residents and guests share with a diverse array of wildlife. Groups of all sizes and types, from incentive programs to corporate retreats to conferences, find their productivity enhanced by the tranquility of Kiawah Island’s natural splendor. Villa Resort guests rest comfortably in more than 500 vacation villas and luxury homes ranging in size from one to four bedrooms. Situated in a variety of settings – ranging from lagoons, to maritime forest, to golf courses – villas allow planners the flexibility to tailor accommodations to each group’s needs. For business and events, the resort offers a conference center and flexible indoor and outdoor pre-event and event space at three of the resort's golf clubhouses. In early 2020, the resort began welcoming groups to the stunning new ocean-side West Beach Conference Center that provides 23,000 square feet of pre-event and meeting space, including a more than 10,000-square-foot core meeting room (divisible into six separate units by air-walls) complemented by eleven breakout rooms (some also divisible). Breaking the mold of yesteryear’s featureless conference center, the building design by world-renowned Robert A.M. Stern Architects addresses the desires and needs of today’s (and tomorrow’s) meetings in an architecturally rich setting. Leisure activities include golf at our five highly celebrated championship courses, including the famed Ocean Course, home of the 1991 Ryder Cup, 2012 PGA Championship and 2021 PGA Championship. The world’s perennially number-one-ranked Roy Barth Tennis Center caters to all players from novices to highly competitive amateurs and professionals. Our award-winning recreation programs and nature excursions serve as out-of-the-ordinary teambuilding activities while allowing attendees to become better acquainted with and knowledgeable of the remarkable habitat the resort shares with the Lowcountry’s fascinating wildlife. Diverse culinary adventures, from stand-along dinners to catered banquets, await attendees. Ranging from casual to unpretentiously elegant, restaurants at our golf clubhouses present distinctive opportunities for guests to sample various cuisines, including hardwood-smoked Southern barbecue, authentic regional Italian featuring house-made pasta, classic American comfort food and sustainably harvested fresh seafood prepared by a master chef. Restaurants in Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Sanctuary hotel include the Ocean Room, the elegant Forbes Five-Star will ensure an unparalleled dining experience. It joins an elite collection of only 5 properties in the United States with this triple rating. Jasmine Porch on the lobby level serves elevated interpretations of classic Lowcountry recipes that take full advantage of fresh ingredients sourced from local farms and fisheries. The Lobby Bar renders classic and creative seasonal cocktails along with a menu of small plates. The casual Loggerhead Bar & Grill open seasonally serves Caribbean-inspired cuisine and tropical drinks in a poolside setting with ocean views. In the lobby, Beaches & Cream specializes in gourmet ice cream and coffees, while Signature Gourmet Coffee offers coffee and express breakfasts and sandwiches for on-the-go attendees. No meeting is complete without experiencing a revered Lowcountry social custom at our outdoor Mingo Point venue, tucked in a graceful curve on the banks of the tidal Kiawah River. There attendees dine on succulent oysters roasted in their shells in the time-honored manner over an open hardwood fire. No meeting is complete without experiencing a revered Lowcountry social custom at our outdoor Mingo Point venue.
