East India Tea Company

5 minutes away
At The East India Company today, we are constantly trying to evolve the business for the ever changing world. We are building the brand on the basis of compassion, not aggression. Drawing upon our wealth of heritage and connections we stand for unity in diversity. Deep within the world’s sub-consciousness is an awareness of The East India Company, a powerful picture of who we are. This gives us a unique opportunity – We don’t have to tell most people that we exist, nor tell them what to think and feel. With this comes great responsibility. We want to live up to our reputation as pioneers, to bring extraordinary goods from around the world to our discerning customers and we want to do this fairly, ethically and honourably. Our vision is a simple one: to establish The East India Company as a luxury brand for the modern commercial world. Today, The Company draws inspiration from its unique heritage with a spirit of Remarkable Connections. It continues to explore the world to surprise and delight customers with inspirational tastes crafted from the finest ingredients the world has to offer – it remains a quintessentially British brand with influences from diverse cultures.

Royal Academy of Arts

5 minutes away
We are an Academy. We have much in common with museums and other galleries, but we have a broader role – to promote not just the appreciation and understanding of art, but also its practice. We are artist-led. Our artists represent many different perspectives, but we all share a deep commitment to art and a strong belief in the contribution that artists make to the world. We are an independent charity. Unlike most of our peers we do not receive revenue funding from government and so we are reliant upon the support of visitors, donors, sponsors, and the loyal Friends of the Royal Academy to continue our work.

The Certified London Home of Britain’s Monarchs Since 1837 Buckingham Palace has been the certified London home of Britain’s monarchs and is still running today as their administrative head office. With many receptions being held by The Queen herself in the State Rooms it’s surprising that more than 50,000 people still visit the Palace annually for lunches, receptions and the occasional Royal Garden Party. Buckingham House Buckingham Palace was initially known as Buckingham House, the bulk of what today makes up the main part of the palace was originally built as a private townhouse for the Duke of Buckingham back in 1703. It wasn’t until 1761 when it was obtained by George III as a private home for Queen Charlotte it became known as ‘The Queen’s House’. Finally in 1837 it was acquired by Queen Victoria as the official royal palace not before being enlarged during the 19th century by architects of the state John Nash and Edward Blore who built three wings around the central courtyard.
