Cenotes have became one of most important attractions of this young area. Cenotes are naturally occurring wells and surface extensions of the subterranean rivers that course through the Yucatan Peninsula's limestone layers and flow towards the sea. They were holy for ancient Mayas who built important cities around them. They are very common throughout the Riviera Maya,and it is a unique experience to go swimming, diving or exploring them.

Stretching from Punta Brava just south of Cancun International Airport to Punta Allen just south of Tulum, exists one of the most fascinating destination spots in the world.
