Local Attractions

Pearl District

8 blocks away
Once known as the Industrial Triangle—filled with railroad yards and timeworn turn-of-the-century warehouses—the Pearl District today is an award-winning, internationally recognized leader in urban renewal, culture and “LEED” certified buildings. As one of the most desired neighborhoods in the country to call your home, work space, or playground, the Pearl is clear validation that high-quality, inner-city communities can revive from the ashes of urban decay. Often considered the “gold standard” of live, work and play mixed-use space, the Pearl District is proof that inner-city living at its finest can rise from the ashes of urban decay.

Pioneer Place Mall

6 blocks away
Pioneer Place is an upscale, urban shopping mall in downtown. It consists of four blocks of retail, dining, parking, and an office tower named Pioneer Tower. The mall itself is spread out between four buildings, interconnected by skywalks or underground mall sections.

Portland Art Museum

10 blocks away
Founded in late 1892, the Portland Art Museum is the seventh oldest museum in the United States and the oldest in the Pacific Northwest. The Museum is internationally recognized for its permanent collection and ambitious special exhibitions, drawn from the Museum’s holdings and the world’s finest public and private collections. The Museum’s collection of more than 42,000 objects, displayed in 112,000 square feet of galleries, reflects the history of art from ancient times to today. The collection is distinguished for its holdings of art of the native peoples of North America, English silver, and the graphic arts. An active collecting institution dedicated to preserving great art for the enrichment of future generations, the Museum devotes 90 percent of its gallery space to its permanent collection. The Museum’s campus of landmark buildings, a cornerstone of Portland’s cultural district, includes the Jubitz Center for Modern and Contemporary Art, the Gilkey Center for Graphic Arts, and the Northwest Film Center. With a membership of over 23,000 households and serving more than 350,000 visitors annually, the Museum is a premier venue for education in the visual arts.

The Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall

4 blocks away
As one of the last surviving theater venues on Broadway, the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall keeps the tradition of hosting prolific performances alive in this historic part of Portland. The building that now houses what locals lovingly call “The Schnitz” was originally the Portland Public Theatre, built in 1928. The Italian Rococo Revival architecture was said to be the national showcase of renowned Chicago theatre architects Rapp & Rapp, and has been beautifully restored through a generous donation from Portlanders Arlene and Harold Schnitzer. The Concert Hall plays host to a variety of presentations including classical, jazz, pop, rock, folk and gospel music, dance, theatre, travel films, conferences, and weddings.
