Ski and Snowboard Queenstown

Recreation
Queenstown is New Zealand’s adventure capital and one of NZ’s best ski and snow board destinations. Coronet Peak and the Remarkables ski areas are only a short trip from down town Queenstown. There is good range of accommodation for all budgets, and plenty of restaurant, cafes and bars to enjoy after a days on the slopes. Queenstown Winter Festival is one of New Zealand’s biggest winter events. Coronet Peak Coronet Peak Ski Area is the most popular ski field in the South Island, as it has everything from easy beginner slopes to rolling off-piste runs to long groomed trails. A special feature at Coronet Peak is night skiing on Friday and Saturdays The Remarkables The Remarkable Ski Area enjoys three sunny sheltered bowls, which ensure soft, cold and dry snow for most of the season. Remarkables is great place to learn to ski with 30% of the field rated as beginner. It is common for DJs and live bands to play at the park, and for families there is the Ozone Tubing Park.

Milford and Doubtful Sounds

Recreation
Milford Sound is a world-renowned natural wonder. Nowhere else in Fiordland do the mountains stand so tall, straight out of the sea. Luxuriant rainforest clings to sheer rock walls and waterfalls tumble hundreds of metres to the sea below. Doubtful Sound is a massive wilderness area of rugged peaks, rainforest and twisting, hidden inlets – all deep in the heart of Fiordland National Park. Known for its pristine beauty and wildlife, Doubtful Sound is the second largest of the 14 fiords in Fiordland National Park and is three times longer and 10 times larger than Milford Sound.

Arrowtown

Recreation
An unmissable stop on any Queenstown itinerary. Arrowtown has distinct flavour, it has maintained its unique charm from its original establishment in the early 1860’s Gold Rush era. The heart of the town lies in Buckingham Street. Here you will find a procession of small town heritage buildings that stretches into a tree lined avenue of tiny miner’s cottages. The buildings in this lovely precinct house shops, galleries, bars and restaurants – many classy, most individual. Definitely recommended for photographers and those seeking a leisure based alternative to Queenstown’s adrenaline thrills. Located only a scenic 20 minute drive from Queenstown.
