More

The Town Hall was designed by Edward Rundle, architect to the 7th Duke of Bedford. It was opened on the 2nd February 1864. The building was built over the site of Mathew Street, Lower Brook Street and Lower Market Street. Constructed of local stone in the Late Perpendicular Gothic style, it boasts a stunning main hall with paneled walls and a superb maple floor, along with other historic and interesting rooms including the Mayors Parlour. Straddling the fast flowing river Tavy below the Western edge of Dartmoor, Tavistock stands in the heart of an area of tremendous natural beauty. Now boasting newly refurbished kitchen and bar areas and with our recently acquired civil ceremony license the town hall makes for Tavistock's premier wedding venue. Friendly and experienced staff is on hand to make your special day memorable and are more than happy to pass their experience on to you to make the organization of your day as stress free as possible. Tavistock Town Hall boasts two rooms perfectly able to accommodate conferences and meetings of varying sizes. The main hall can accommodate up to 200 people or for smaller more intimate meetings the Rundle room is available to accommodate up to 28 people. Refreshments are available and can be arranged at the time of booking.
