Anaheim is home to the world-famous Disneyland® Resort, which today includes the original Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure, and the Downtown Disney District. Disneyland features eight spectacular themed lands that encompass over 60 rides. Main Street, U.S.A., patterned after an early 20th-century Midwest town, welcomes guests to the park with a train station, town square, and city hall. The 19th-century-inspired New Orleans Square is home to two of the most popular Disneyland attractions, the Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion rides. Splash Mountain in Critter Country and Mickey's Toontown, a 1930s cartoon come to life, are also crowd-pleasers.
A new park area, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, will soon bring visitors to a galaxy far, far away. Guests will experience intergalactic adventures in the highly anticipated, 14-acre Star Wars-themed land, which will open with two anchor attractions. One gives guests the chance to pilot the Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission, while the second puts them right in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests will also encounter various characters, including BB-8, Chewbacca, Rex and Kylo Ren. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will open at Disneyland Park in 2019.
Directly across from Disneyland Park, Disney's California Adventure Park is a place of shows, parades, and attractions that celebrate California's past and future. Attraction highlights include the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT, a comically high-energy, rocking new adventure, and Soarin' Around the World, a simulated hang glider that gives guests an aerial view of different regions of the globe. Pixar Pier, a newly transformed area at Disney California Adventure, showcases an array of themed attractions, food, and merchandise. Pixar Pier is located in the area that was Paradise Pier and introduces four new neighborhoods representing beloved Disney·Pixar stories.
Just a short Disney monorail ride away, the Downtown Disney District is a lively promenade leading to the park entrance. Here, visitors explore blocks of unique shopping, dining, and entertainment, including a bowling alley and several nightlife hot spots.
