Nestled against the Red Rock Canyon yet still close to the action, Summerlin is a master-planned community in the west part of Las Vegas, where meeting space is just as lavish and elegant as the residences that surround it. There are several gaming and non-gaming event venues in Summerlin, and several award-winning golf courses, including TPC Summerlin, owned by PGA Tour (about a 30-minute-drive from McCarran International Airport).
One of the favorite corporate event venues in Summerlin is Red Rock Hotel and Casino, offering 94,000 square feet of meeting space and conference facilities, many naturally lit and overlooking the canyon and its three-acre-pool backyard. With 10 breakout rooms, the conference center can accommodate up to 1,500 attendees.
Other popular properties are the Suncoast Hotel and Casino, with a 25,000-square-foot convention, banquet and meeting complex; and the JW Marriott, with over 90,000 square feet of meeting space and 32 breakout rooms, a favorite with planners looking for an elegant venue full of greenery and natural light. Summerlin also offers several non-gaming hotels.
The dining scene in Summerlin is on par with the demanding tastes of its residents. At Ceres restaurant at JW Marriott, guests enjoy waterfall and garden views while sampling seasonal continental cuisine. At T-Bones Chophouse at the Red Rock, steaks and sides such as mac-n-cheese in cast-iron bowls are always a hit. Yet some of the best dining in Summerlin is in stand-alone restaurants, such as Vintner Grill and Agave, the latter known for its upscale Mexican cuisine. These intimate and classy establishments known for signature dishes and chefs who are local celebrities can accommodate up to 30 people for a private dining party at the chef's table. With 11 golf courses, Summerlin is known for its greens. The crown jewel is TPC Summerlin, designed by Fuzzy Zoeller; it ranks as one of America's Best golf courses, according to Golf Digest magazine and hosts the PGA Tour and several celebrity tournaments annually. Several golf courses boast stately clubhouses and indoor and outdoor event space, perfect for banquets and receptions.
Culture also thrives in Summerlin, which is home to the Nevada Ballet Theater, as well as two libraries that regularly feature exhibitions of local artists as well as author presentations.
