Convention Centers
Edmonton Convention Centre
Built into the side of the riverbank in the heart of downtown Edmonton, the Edmonton Convention Centre (ECC) overlooks the beautiful North Saskatchewan River Valley and is only a 30-minute drive from Edmonton International Airport. One of the most notable features of this visually appealing structure is the abundance of windows that allow sunlight to flood the building. Opened in 1983, the ECC is one of Canada's premier meeting, entertainment, and convention venues and has won recognition for its architecture, cuisine, and environmental stewardship. Managed by Explore Edmonton to provide economic and social benefits to the community, the venue has an exceptional staff to create exceptional customer experiences for half a million guests annually. The ECC also delights your guests with award-winning fine dining. Executive chef Serge Belair is considered one of Canada's top culinary experts; named National Chef of the Year in 2012, he has been a key influencer in building Edmonton's brand and reputation as an international culinary destination.

The ECC's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship helps connect clients, guests, and the local community to the special river valley location, where indigenous peoples have been gathering for thousands of years. The ECC has a number of environmental best practices in place, including a Responsible Meetings Program to assist clients with planning green events, as well as in-house recycling and compost programs and a food recovery program that contributes to a 62% annual waste diversion rate. The ECC is the first conference venue in Canada to receive Green Key Level 5 certification and one of only five venues in Canada to receive the prestigious ASTM International sustainability certification.

Underground parking for up to 500 vehicles is available next door to the ECC at Canada Place, and ground transportation is located only one block away. The ECC was upgraded in 2006 with the addition of the 26,000-square-foot Hall D, an impressive room that holds 2,000 guests theater-style or 1,200 for a sit-down dinner. Its 30-foot-high windows offer some of the most spectacular views in the city. This addition brought the ECC's total floor space to 110,000 square feet, making the facility capable of handling conferences of up to 6,600 delegates. The meeting level has 20 different salons designed to accommodate everything from small groups of up to 20 guests to larger meetings of up to 400 people. Space ranges from 395 square feet to 3,720 square feet and is configurable in a variety of ways. The assembly level features Halls A, B, and C and Salons D, E, and F, as well as dressing rooms and producers' offices. The Pedway level, shared with Hall D, contains boardrooms and provides enclosed pedestrian access to restaurants, hotels, and shopping. All catering, from coffee breaks to cocktail receptions, is done onsite.
