Vancouver International Airport (YVR)

Richmond is home to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) which connects passengers to over 118 non-stop destinations. Canada's second-busiest airport, with more than 24.9 million annual passengers, YVR was named Best Airport by Skytrax in 2024. The airport's additional South Terminal facility hosts floatplane, helicopter, and smaller airline services — including popular fishing charter flights — to destinations throughout the region.

YVR features more than 160 retail outlets and eateries, an extensive public art program, and a 30,000-gallon aquarium. Services include free Wi-Fi and hourly to long-term parking, while its dedicated Canada Line train station delivers passengers to downtown Richmond in just a few minutes. Most of Richmond's convention hotels also provide courtesy airport shuttles.

TransLink

TransLink serves Richmond and Vancouver with bus, SkyTrain, and SeaBus ferry routes. Its network is divided into three zones, with Richmond in Zone 2.

Canada Line

The SkyTrain Canada Line is a rapid transit system covering Vancouver, Richmond, and Vancouver International Airport (YVR and has seven Richmond stations. From the Richmond-Brighouse station to Waterfront station in downtown Vancouver takes about 25 minutes, and from Richmond-Brighouse to the YVR-Airport station takes less than 20 minutes.

Rental Cars

Rental-car counters at YVR include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, National, and Dollar/Thrifty.

Taxis

Passengers traveling from YVR to downtown Richmond should expect to pay around $20 CAD in taxi fare. The same can be said for services such as Uber and Lyft.
