Vancouver

With a resume of meetings and events that includes the annual TED Conference, the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, and the Professional Conference Management Association (PCMA)’s Convening Leaders conference, Vancouver has what it takes to make your event one that attendees will talk about for years to come! Much of the stunning Vancouver Convention Centre (43,340 sq. m./466,500 sq. ft.) is built over the downtown waterfront, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows treating guests to phenomenal harbour and mountain views to perfectly frame your meeting’s program. LEED Platinum-certified, the centre is a sustainable landmark in a city known for its environmental leadership. Vancouver’s 21 downtown convention hotels offer a wide range of options for alternative meeting spaces, and most of the 13,000 downtown hotel rooms are within walking distance of the convention centre. The Metro Vancouver area offers a total of 28,000 rooms, along with unique venues that span everything from mountaintop lodges to heritage ballrooms. Vancouver is a food-lover’s dream: whether you’re planning a banquet for 1,000 or a restaurant-hopping dine-around, the city’s culinary scene is delicious. Just 30-minutes from downtown, Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is the second-largest airport on North America’s west coast, making it easy for meeting attendees to get here. And they’ll want to come: not only is Vancouver an exciting urban destination, it’s the perfect gateway for exploring Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest pre- or post-meeting. Vancouver is an international destination with over 70 languages spoken, and a dynamic, highly-diversified urban economy. Companies as varied as Hootsuite, Goldcorp, Lionsgate Entertainment, and EA Sports call the city home. Our universities, research centres, and teaching hospitals make this an ideal destination for your attendees to collaborate within their field of expertise. But it’s the service you’ll receive that sets Vancouver apart. The hospitality community is unified, meaning that Tourism Vancouver and the city’s hotels, venues, and suppliers work together seamlessly to make sure your experience in our destination exceeds your expectations, and those of your client and meeting attendees....
