Societe de Transport de l’Outaouais (STO)The Societe de Transport de l’Outaouais (STO) public bus system serves the Gatineau urban area, Cantley and Chelsea along 65 bus routes throughout a 227-square-mile area. The daily bus service runs along regular, express and interzone routes, serving such major destinations as the Ottawa International Airport and Palais des Congres de Gatineau. Adult cash fare is $3.75 for regular service, $4.25 for express service and $6.60 for interzone service, while children ages 6 to 12 pay $2.45 for regular service, $2.95 for express service and $4.90 for interzone service. Children age 5 and under ride free. STO offers reduced fare for groups of 12 or more people with the issued visitor card; with the card, groups pay $3.30 per person for unlimited travel on STO’s regular system from 9 AM to 2:30 PM on a given date.VIA Rail Canada (Ottawa)VIA Rail Canada’s Ottawa station, located at 200 Tremblay Road, serves as the closest VIA Rail station to the Outaouais region. The station is open Monday through Friday from 5 AM to 8:45 PM, Saturday from 6 AM to 7 PM and Sunday from 8 AM to 8:45 PM. VIA Rail’s Ottawa-Quebec City line stops at the Ottawa station, as well as the Montreal and Quebec stations.
