El Dorado International Airport (BOG) handled approximately 45.5 million passengers in 2025, making it the busiest airport in Latin America. It currently connects Bogotá with 102 destinations, 57 international and 45 domestic, and serves as Avianca’s principal hub, providing convenient access from major cities across the United States, Latin America, and Europe.
El Dorado has two passenger terminals. Terminal 1 handles all international flights and most domestic operations, while Terminal 2 serves selected domestic flights. The airport is connected to Bogotá’s main hotel, business, and convention districts through Avenida El Dorado. Official taxis, prearranged private transfers, group transportation, rental cars, buses, and TransMilenio public transportation are available. Travel times vary depending on the destination and traffic conditions.

Bogota Public Transportation
Bogotá’s public transportation system includes TransMilenio, SITP buses, and TransMiCable. All three use the rechargeable tullave card, available at stations and authorized sales points.
TransMilenio and SITP:
• TransMilenio runs along dedicated corridors across the city
• SITP buses connect areas outside the main TransMilenio routes
Airport Connection:
• The K86 service connects Terminal 1 with Portal El Dorado
• The 16-14 feeder bus also runs between the airport and Portal El Dorado
